Because of Brenda's comment on my last post, I must clarify something....I did hike the 50 miles. I even lost 5 pounds! Chris is the only one that rode a horse because he was kicked by a horse a few months ago in the knee. Anyway, now you all know. lol

Hey everyone! That's right! We're updating our blog!!!!

These are some pictures of the 50 mile hike that I went on a couple weeks ago. They are low quality pictures because they were taken from a disposable camera. Anyway, the 50 miler was really fun.

This was taken and Jordan Lake. It was a really great mountain lake. Untouched it seemed. I caught over 50 fish at this lake(catch and release). I did keep two though because they were the biggest of the trip. :) Which as you can see weren't huge...

This is the first day of the trip. Me, Chris Hanson, and Ray Gorham. The rest of the pictures are just some amazing views. They don't do them justice though.

Snowboarding(videos)

First, I thought all of you would enjoy seeing our bloopers. This first video is my second jump of the day. You can hear and watch my head smack the ground. It really hurt for a little while and my neck is pretty stiff today. Haha. We all know I have a hard head though, so I'm doing good.

Mindy just thought this one was hilarious because I was rolling around.

I thought this one was hilarious because of the faceplant.

Then I did almost the very same thing!

Now our videos we actually landed!

Here is both of us redeeming ourselves on the boxes.

Here is my big jump of the day.

Here is Mindy's sweet 180's. She is way better than me at these. I landed a couple of 180's but then wrecked soon after.

Austin's new haircut

Well, I have always been curious about what I would look like with a buzzed head. So, with the encouragement of Mindy, I decided to try it out. Here it is. I don't think it looks too bad. I actually kind of like it, I especially like how low maintenance it is. I highly recommend buzzing your head...well to the guys atleast.

Better late than never?

Hey everyone, it's been a while so I figured I would update everyone a little bit. We went to Denver for Christmas and went snowboarding. It was awesome! Now we are in school and taking a snowboarding class. Life is good in the lives of the newlyweds! Here's some pictures of our snowboarding with the family in Denver.

Here's Mindy getting her board ready for her first ride on her new board.

Right before we head out on the mountain.

Good 'ol family fun!

Getting on the lift.

What's a family gathering without a little rough housing. He was trying to force me outside for a silly string fight but I wasn't having any of that.

Unfortunately there were a couple of casualties. Jack and Jill here didn't fair so well in the rough housing.

Jack and Jill ended up biting back when I tried crushing them with my hand.

Costumes

Well, Austin and I (really just Austin) decided not to do the whole ninja thing. Mostly because for our ward Halloween party everyone had to dress up as famous couples. As easy as that seems, it took us quite a while to come up with some good ideas that we both liked. Austin wanted to dress up with a pitchfork fork and be that one old picture.

I know, I know.... such a likeness of me and Austin, right? But I still said no. And teased him for his suggestion. Now that I think of it, it might have been really funny. Probably not though.

I thought we should just put a piece of paper on each of us saying "1 minute" and then we would be "a couple of minutes". Austin just laughed at me.

So we decided on Robin Hood and Maid Marian

We decided to do these costumes the day of the Halloween Party. We had to do some quick thinking and preparation. We ended up going to the DI and Walmart to get my costume. Please note the "boots" first. We just picked up a little fabric from Walmart and Mindy sewed some thingies for my legs. The shoes were just my brown church shoes. It turned out a lot better than either of us expected. Then we bought two shirts and cut the sleeves off of one. The hat.......I'm kind of ashamed to say that I made that thing. I didn't measure or anything, I just started cutting. I was really lucky that it turned out. I wish you could see my sweet bow and arrows in the picture. It was a little kids bow and arrow set with the suction cups as tips. lol
Mindy's costume looked great! We just picked it up at K-mart for 50% off. At the halloween party there were all kinds of games. One was a word game where we all had letters on our backs and we had to make words as fast as we could. There was also a cow milking contest. It was really fun to watch, but we didn't get to try it out. We had a lot of fun and ended up getting 8 Reese's candy bars(not the fun size ones, which ironically are not as fun as the bigger ones, but the full size ones!) and 1 Hershey bar. I would call that a success!!!!

Whelp, halloween...

Halloween is coming and the only decoration we have in our home is a pumpkin that we were going to carve and make into a scary face.... we just haven't quite gotten to it yet.

However, we have decided on our costumes (although we still have no Halloween party to show them off at yet). We are going to be ninjas, which works out because Austin (conveniently) already owns a ninja sword. Which reminds me, if you get a chance to look at the ninja cat video posted on the side, you should. Austin and I watched it at least three times in a row and could not stop laughing.

So, even though we don't have much to show in our house this year for Halloween, we have still gotten in the Halloween spirit by eating pumpkin seeds and lots of candy! Austin tried to hide the candy from me, but I found them after looking at the only two hiding spots he has :)

Well, if you have any suggestions of inexpensive decorations or treats I could make, I'm all ears!

Peace out till next time!
